Perhaps you have recently been convinced to try facial hair, or perhaps you feel your current style is lacking something. Picking the right style for your face and sense of style is an important step in growing and keeping facial hair. With so many great options available, the task can seem daunting, to say the least.
The biggest factors in making your decision may be:
1-What styles are best for your face shape and features
2-What is your personal style
3-How much time you want to put into the maintenance of your facial hair
So, without any further ado, here are some links to some great resources for determining your face shape and what styles will look best on you. The rest is up to you.
This extensive article from HairBoutique.Com explains the various men’s face shapes and has celebrity photos as illustrations of them. Hair cut advice is given, as is some facial hair style advice.
A two-page (due to adverstising) short article from HairFinder.Com has great illustrations and explanations of the most common and popular facial hair styles. Front and side views are shown.
Ezine.Com has an article which offers tips for choosing your style based upon flaws you wish to cover such as scarring and acne; and camouflaging features such as a dominant nose.
My former fiancĂ©e couldn’t decide which of several styles he wanted, so he grew a Van Dyck, then added a full beard which went up to his sideburns. From there he whittled it down to a trimmed beard, and then went back to the Van Dyck. Experimenting with the different styles helped him to pick from amongst several possibilities. He looked really great with all of them, so it was really just a matter of which he preferred and was the easiest for him personally to maintain.
If you are unsure as to which facial hair style you want to have, you can always do something similar which will allow you to grow and try out the styles you are choosing from. The input of others as you go through this process may help you decide as well.
More facial hair information, links, and a photo gallery (which you may submit YOUR pics to) are available on the Dani Greek Goddess of Men’s Facial Hair ™ Website.
