Sideburns: The Under Dog of Facial Hair

Today's blog post is a tribute to the underdog of facial hair: sideburns. So much attention is given to mustaches and beards, that sideburns go largely unnoticed. While part of a great beard, they also are a stand-alone facial hair type. Then again, maybe I am wrong about calling them an underdog:

"Tony Travis sings about sideburns in Paul Frees' 1959 movie The Beatniks. Song by Eddie Brandt & Paul Frees. Featured in episode 415 of Mystery Science Theater 3000."

One of the most famous (or infamous) types of sideburns is known as 'mutton chops', though personally, I like this version much better.

Below are a few interesting or otherwise entertaining links honoring sideburns.

So, love them or hate them, as long as there is men's facial hair, sideburns will always be around.
